JJ Movers started the way a lot of removal companies do — one truck, two people and a phone that rang on weekends. What was different was the reason we started. We had both worked for larger operators where the quote given on the phone had very little to do with the invoice handed over at the end of the day, and we were tired of apologizing for it.
So the business was built around a single promise: the number we quote is the number you pay. That meant learning to estimate properly, sending crews that are actually trained rather than casual labour, and buying the right equipment instead of hoping a blanket and some rope would do.
Today we run a fleet from 2 tonne vans to 12 tonne pantechs, have a dedicated packing team and a commercial division, and move families and businesses across every Melbourne suburb, regional Victoria and interstate.
On any given week our crews will move a student out of a share house in Footscray, a family from a four-bedroom home in Point Cook, an accounting practice out of a CBD tower after hours, and a grand piano from a heritage home in Williamstown. The jobs look different but the approach is identical: plan the access, protect everything, work steadily, finish clean.
Our values
The principles that guide how our crews treat your home and possessions every single day.
Our quote is a commitment, not an opening bid. If the job runs shorter you pay less; if we underestimated, that is on us, not you.
Every item gets wrapped, every floor gets covered, every doorway gets protected — even when the customer is not watching.
Well-rested, fairly paid movers do careful work. We cap job lengths and roster properly because tired crews break things.
Running late, traffic on the freeway, a truck issue — you hear about it from us immediately, not when we fail to show up.
Why us
No hidden fuel fees, surprise stair charges, or back-depot travel costs. What we quote is what you pay.
We respect your schedule. We give you a firm arrival window, and if traffic holds us up, we call you early.
Our team treats your furniture like their own. We wrap, lift, and secure every piece with genuine care.
Full public liability coverage on every move plus transit insurance options for total peace of mind.
From small 2-tonne vans to large 12-tonne trucks, we match the right vehicle so you don't overpay.
Moving on weekends, public holidays, or after hours? We work around your convenience every day.
